About Biodiversity Research Centre

Our Namibian researchers and post-graduate students conduct applied research to support conservation and wildlife management objectives. We are passionate about connecting science with decision-making and conservation. Our strength is your support.

We conduct targeted applied research

to support Namibian development and conservation goals, through maximising sustainable benefits to Namibians from Biodiversity resources.

multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research.

of knowledge and understanding of biodiversity, and its interactions with people and their livelihoods

competent Namibian scienctists for the future

partners from reputable international institutions for co-supervision of student and collaborative research in biodiversity-based community livelihoods and conservation topics

a leadership and lobbying role in the sustainable use and management of the biodiversity landscape in Namibia and other African countries with important biodiversity resources
